Job summary

Planet Pharma in Draper, UT is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to apply engineering theory to layout and production. You will create drawings, interpret blueprints, and contribute to process improvement.

You will support project management, collaborate with R&D and commercial teams, coordinate builds and material allocations, and lead IQ/OQ/PQ validations. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
  • 2–4 years experience required.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Support Project Management by tracking project deliverables.
  • Collaborate across sites and cross functional teams (R&D and commercial).
  • Coordinate manufacturing builds and raw material allocations.
  • Lead process validations (IQ, OQ, PQ).
  • Support documentation for the team.
  • Optimize manufacturing processes using Six Sigma and LEAN methods for continuous improvement and/or redesign of equipment.
  • Interpret drawings, schematics, or formulas and confer with management to determine quality and reliability standards.
  • Read worker logs, product processing sheets, and spec sheets to verify QA.
  • Aid in planning work assignments based on worker performance, machine capacity, production schedules, and delays.
  • Prepare charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization.

Summary

The main function of a manufacturing engineer is to apply engineering theory and principles to problems of industrial layout or manufacturing production. A typical manufacturing engineer has the ability to make engineering drawings, and read and interpret blueprints.

Job Responsibilities
  • Support Project Management by tracking project deliverables.
  • Collaborate across sites and cross functional teams (R&D and commercial).
  • Coordinate manufacturing builds and raw material allocations.
  • Lead process validations (IQ, OQ, PQ).
  • Support documentation for the team.
  • Optimize manufacturing processes, including using engineering methods (e.g., SIX Sigma and LEAN methods) for continuous process improvement and/or re-design/design of equipment, tools, fixtures, etc. to improve manufacturing processes, employing technical design skills.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
  • Read worker logs, product processing sheets, and specification sheets, to verify that records adhere to quality assurance specifications.
  • Aid in planning work assignments in accordance with worker performance, machine capacity, production schedules, and anticipated delays.
  • Prepare charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization.

Education/Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
  • 2-4 years experience required.
