Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • 6 months+ experience in manufacturing, production, or product development.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and CAD software such as AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a strategic mindset.
  • Hands‑on experience in mechanical design, product development, or manufacturing processes.
  • Effective project management, teamwork, and relationship‑building skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement fixtures, tooling, machinery, and process equipment for manufacturing and remanufacturing operations.
  • Develop mechanical systems and components that support production and recovery processes.
  • Conduct engineering studies, feasibility analyses, and technology assessments to identify optimal solutions.
  • Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and technical documentation.
  • Perform design verification through simulation, testing, and validation activities.
  • Manage projects from concept through implementation, including scheduling, budgeting, and risk mitigation.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturing personnel, maintenance teams, and management to define requirements and ensure successful project execution.
  • Evaluate manufacturing capabilities and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Support procurement activities by reviewing equipment specifications, vendor proposals, and technical requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, industry regulations, and applicable safety requirements.
  • Investigate emerging technologies and lead analyses of alternatives to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

Inside the Role

The Mechanical Engineer will lead the development and implementation of production fixtures, tooling, equipment, and automated manufacturing solutions supporting conventional powertrain, e-mobility, and remanufacturing operations. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams, production personnel, suppliers, and leadership to deliver projects from concept and design through validation, installation, and launch.

Position offers a starting salary range of $71,000 - $91,000 USD Pay Offered Dependent On Knowledge, Skills, And Experience. What You Drive At DTNA

Knowledge You Should Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Mechatronics Engineering
  • 6 months+ experience in manufacturing, production, or product development (experience can be gained through projects, internships, apprenticeships, co‑ops, or professional experience)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and CAD software such as AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a strategic mindset.
  • Hands‑on experience in mechanical design, product development, or manufacturing processes.
  • Effective project management, teamwork, and relationship‑building skills.
  • Self‑motivated with the ability to adapt quickly and learn new technologies and processes.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally as business needs require.
  • An attached resume is required
  • Typically work 4 days per week, 10 hour shifts - Fridays off
Exceptional Candidates Might Have
  • 1+ years of experience in a mechanical engineering role preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with automation and robotic systems.
  • Experience with welding processes and related manufacturing technologies.
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing, process improvement, or industrial equipment design.
  • Experience leveraging AI tools and technologies to improve productivity, efficiency, or business outcomes
