Job summary

Benchmark is seeking a Manufacturing/Process Engineer to provide technical liaison from design through production in our Minnesota (Winona) facility. You will participate in design reviews, review drawings for manufacturability, and help decide on in-house vs vendor capabilities while supporting lean initiatives.

The role requires a BS in engineering, 0–2 years in manufacturing engineering, and a willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience as approved by management.
• Understanding of continuous improvement tools and Lean Sigma concepts.
• Experience in a precision machine shop environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Attends design reviews and provides product evaluations to ensure manufacturability.
• Reviews engineering drawings prior to Production Release for compatibility with manufacturing techniques.
• Assists in make/buy evaluations and recommends in-house vs outside vendor capabilities.
• Evaluates requirements for assembly tooling, fixtures, and equipment.
• Participates in MRB and dispositioning of discrepant material and/or assemblies.
• Contributes to Change Control Board reviews to ensure designs are producible.
