Job summary

Cook Medical Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer 1 to provide hands-on process support for the extrusion department, focusing on day-to-day production of plastic components for medical devices.

You will collaborate with production, product development and quality teams, drive continuous improvement, support CAPA investigations and validation projects, and manage multiple technical projects on the manufacturing floor. This is a full-time position with on-site, hybrid or remote options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Plastics Engineering preferred.
• 3+ years of extrusion process development experience.
• 5+ years of work related to polymer processing preferred.
• Process validation (IQ, OQ, PQ) preferred.
• Equipment qualification (IQ, OQ, PQ) preferred.
• Proficiency at using Microsoft Office applications.
• Design of Experiments / Six Sigma preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides process support for extrusion department.
• Hands-on position with visibility on the manufacturing floor.
• Requires interaction with production, product development, and quality teams.
• Supports product development activities, continuous improvement, CAPA investigations and other quality initiatives.
• Supports manufacturing issues with technical support as process expert; investigates root causes and implements solutions.
• Leads continuous improvement and is technical lead on process validation projects.
• Assists with design for manufacturability for new products and supports capital equipment/tooling purchases.
• Manages multiple technically oriented projects with internal/external resources.
• Collaborates on product complaint resolution.
