Job summary

Albany Engineered Composites is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to design and plan layouts for machining and composite fabrication, adapting equipment for production conditions. You will optimize plant layouts, sequence operations, and specify procedures affecting product performance.

The role requires a BS in engineering or related field, with experience in a manufacturing environment and a track record of solving complex technical challenges.

Albany Engineered Composites (AEC) designs, develops, and manufactures advanced composite components in order to help our customers push the frontiers of innovation. Our core strength is our ability to produce highly tailored, complex composite components. With our unique blend of products – including 3D woven structures, traditional and non-traditional 2D composite structures, and discrete through thickness reinforcement technologies, to name a few – AEC is able to produce composite components and products which meet performance and cost specifications often beyond the reach of metallic or conventional laminated composites.

The Manufacturing Engineer designs and plans layout for such activities as machining/composite materials layout and assembly. Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions. Plans for the arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout. Plans sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance. May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.

• Working in/Leading a multi—disciplined team
• GD&T
• CATIA V5
• Green Belt Certified a plus
• Experience in Windchill, and SAP a plus
• Aerospace manufacturing a plus
