Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Seguin, TX is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support the assembly of generators from 35kW to 850kW. You will maintain and improve processes, tooling, and plant systems across planning, maintenance, release, and constraint management.

Responsibilities include leading projects, applying Lean methods, conducting root-cause analyses, and collaborating with suppliers for capital projects to drive cost-effective, quality-focused manufacturing outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Develop, analyze, and manage manufacturing and assembly projects; troubleshoot daily process problems and implement effective changes.
• Design processes aligned with takt time to optimize throughput and safety for high-quality generators.
• Lead continuous improvement activities addressing assembly, ISO requirements, root-cause analysis, and PFMEA/PPAP.
• Coordinate tool design reviews, manufacturing processes, cost estimates, layouts, and releases with stakeholders.
• Analyze engineering change notices and implement required part or process changes.
• Collaborate with internal and external suppliers to manage capital projects ensuring cost-effective implementations.
• Assess current and future systems, procedures, training, and equipment needs to improve manufacturability.
• Support assembly processes including New Product Introduction to ensure timely, manufacturable changes.
