Job summary

KPIT, a global technology company, is seeking a Mechanical/ Manufacturing Engineer to design and optimize General/Final Assembly processes across Trim, Chassis & Final. You will develop assembly sequences, line layouts and balance lines to improve throughput in automotive manufacturing.

You will work with Product Engineering and suppliers on DFMs, RFQs, and safety compliance; apply PFMEA, Lean and Six Sigma tools to drive root-cause analysis, cycle-time reduction and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/ Manufacturing/ Industrial/ Automotive Engineering required.
  • 2–5+ years of automotive manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience with AGVs, conveyors, skillet systems, torque/fastening tools, or automated assembly equipment.
  • Knowledge of PFMEA, Lean Manufacturing, 8D/Six Sigma, and root-cause analysis.
  • Experience with CAD tools such as CATIA, AutoCAD, SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

  • Support AGVs, conveyors/skillet systems, automated tooling, and torque/fastening equipment.
  • Lead/support equipment installation, commissioning, FAT/SAT, and new vehicle launches.
  • Develop and maintain PFMEA, standard work instructions, and process documentation.
  • Drive root-cause analysis, cycle-time reduction, quality, ergonomics, and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate with Product Engineering and suppliers on DFM/DFA, RFQs, and manufacturing feasibility.

Requirements

  • 2–5+ years of automotive manufacturing experience, preferably in General/Final Assembly.
  • Experience with AGVs, conveyors, skillet systems, torque/fastening tools, or automated assembly equipment.
  • Knowledge of PFMEA, Lean Manufacturing, 8D/Six Sigma, and root-cause analysis.
  • Experience with CATIA, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD tools.
  • Understanding of OSHA, LOTO, and manufacturing safety requirements.
  • Experience with new product/vehicle launches and equipment commissioning preferred.
