Job summary

Bosch Charleston is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to launch the next phase of e‑mobility production for the e‑Axle program at our Charleston, SC site. This role requires hands‑on leadership of gearset assembly processes and a strong focus on operational efficiency.

You will own process PFMEA and Control Plans, work with cross‑functional teams and international partners to implement improvements, and help train teams on best practices while supporting production with problem solving and trials.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or related field required.
• Minimum three years’ experience in automated, industrial manufacturing.
• Willingness to travel internationally.
• Able to work cross-functionally in international teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills and structured approach.

Responsibilities

• Own processes on gearset/transmission loop of the e-Axle production line.
• Maintain product knowledge of transmission and gear components and verification processes.
• Develop best practices and create training/documentation.
• Support lead plant/IPN processes and standards.
• Assist production with problem solving, documentation, and trials for improvements.
• Lead PFMEA and Control Plan development from customer attributes.
• Coordinate with internal and external partners for optimization.
• Communicate with lead plants and networks on latest tech and processes.
• Participate in customer-required assessments and audits.

Job Description

We're excited to bring eAxle production to the Lowcountry! We are seeking qualified manufacturing engineers to launch our next phase of e-mobility products at our Charleston, SC site.

The manufacturing engineer will be a competency leader in gearset assembly processes for electric axles. This role requires a hands‑on approach, strong problem‑solving skills, and the ability to execute technical initiatives, all with a keen understanding of manufacturing principles and operational efficiency. The responsibilities for this job include the following tasks and functional responsibilities:

• Process owner for processes involved on the gearset/transmission loop of the e‑Axle production line
• Product knowledge of transmission and gear components as well as confirmation processes of their assemblies (measurement, meshing, etc.)
• Develops best practices for given processes and creates training/documentation
• Support and implement lead plant/IPN processes and standards
• Support ongoing production with problem solving, documentation, and trials for process improvements
• Derive from customer characteristics required attributes for manufacturing, driving the development of the Process FMEA (PFMEA) and Control Plan
• Cooperation with internal and external partners (process development, quality, suppliers, production, logistics, quality) for process and equipment optimizations
• Communication and participation with lead plants and International Production Networks, Center of Competency and Expert Teams on latest technologies and process improvements
• Conduct and/or participate in customer‑required process assessments and audits

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (or similar field)
• Be a self‑starter and innately curious, with the ability and willingness to dive into and lead development of technical processes
• Have minimum three years’ experience in automated, industrial manufacturing
• Be comfortable with cross‑functional activities and international teams
• Be structured and systematic in their work approach, willing to adapt to dynamic changes and multi‑tasking
• Be willing and able to travel internationally
• Communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
• Be adept in systematic problem solving (8D, 5‑Why, Shainin, etc.)
• Project management and ability to lead teams
