Schreiber Foods in Shippensburg, PA is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer to optimize cream cheese and yogurt processes, improve yield, and scale up products from concept to production. You’ll collaborate with Operations Excellence, Data Science, and Maintenance to drive data-driven improvements and ensure food safety and quality.

The role emphasizes process control, capability studies, FMEA, and cross-functional leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Packaging, Electrical, Chemical or related).
• 36+ months of experience in related manufacturing roles.
• 24 months of experience in food or food packaging manufacturing.
• 12 months eliminating process waste while driving efficiency in food packaging.
• 36 months with tray packaging machines and box forming/filling equipment.
• 36 months in FDA-regulated manufacturing environment with sanitary design (HACCP, GMP, FDA).
• 12 months project management including planning, execution, cross-functional coordination; 12 months managing multiple concurrent projects; 36 months using AutoCAD or similar 2D/3D programs; 12 months using SolidWorks.
• 36 months optimizing print packaging operations to improve lithographic quality and reduce scrap/downtime.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and optimize existing food manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and cost savings.
• Design and implement improvements to enhance yield and throughput while maintaining food safety and quality.
• Collaborate with Operations Excellence and Data Science to leverage data for optimization.
• Scale up new cream cheese or yogurt products from concept to production.
• Coordinate with Maintenance for uptime and predictive maintenance strategies.
• Lead or assist equipment installations from concept to commissioning.
• Use data analysis and statistics to identify bottlenecks and reduce variability.
• Conduct FMEA to identify risks and improve reliability.
• Define and own manufacturing process control plans and SPC; perform GR&R.
• Perform process capability studies to predict trends and meet specifications.
• Troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Evaluate equipment/tools/materials; partner with Controls Engineering to leverage automation.
