Job summary

Lightship RV is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to help build production floor processes, tooling, and documentation for our all-electric recreational vehicle manufacturing environment. You will evaluate current build methods, design safer and faster processes, and translate solutions into repeatable work instructions and fixtures.

This is an in-person, in-office role requiring willingness for extended hours and weekends when needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of hardware manufacturing experience.
• CAD experience for jig, fixture, and workstation design.
• Experience building or reworking manufacturing processes, tooling, or documentation.
• Ability to read and apply GD&T drawings and technical documents.
• Plan capacity, floor layout, and line balancing.
• Familiarity with Google Workspace or equivalent tools.
• Self-motivated, able to multitask, thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, and communicate cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

• Interpret engineering drawings and design efficient, high-quality processes, jigs, and workstations.
• Select and procure equipment, tools, and fixtures meeting specs while balancing near-term needs and long-term reliability.
• Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methods to reduce waste and improve quality.
• Support line capacity planning and lead yield improvement projects with production and engineering.
• Estimate manufacturing costs, determine time standards, and recommend tooling and processes.
• Investigate quality feedback, drive corrective actions, and verify effectiveness.
• Develop and maintain production documentation (work instructions and test procedures).
• Complete readiness assessments and support successful launches into production.
• Provide floor-level troubleshooting and guidance to production personnel.
• Participate in daily standups to align on daily goals.
