Job summary

Lightship in Colorado is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to design and implement production processes, tooling, and documentation for new vehicles. You will work with technicians and engineers to translate floor problems into repeatable work instructions and fixtures.

This is an in-person role requiring CAD proficiency, GD&T knowledge, and experience improving manufacturing processes. You will contribute to Lean/Six Sigma initiatives and support production launches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years in a hardware manufacturing environment.
• CAD experience for jig, fixture, and workstation design.
• Ability to read GD&T drawings and technical documents.
• Experience building or reworking manufacturing processes, tooling, or documentation.
• Proficient with Google Workspace or equivalents.
• Strong interpersonal and cross-functional communication.

Responsibilities

• Interpret engineering drawings to design efficient processes, jigs, and workstations.
• Select and procure equipment, tools, and fixtures meeting specifications.
• Apply Lean/Six Sigma methods to reduce waste and boost quality.
• Support line capacity planning and yield improvement with production.
• Estimate manufacturing costs, time standards, and tooling requirements.
• Investigate quality feedback and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain production documentation (work instructions and test procedures).
• Complete readiness assessments and support launches into production.
• Provide floor-level troubleshooting guidance to Production personnel.
• Participate in daily standups to align on goals.
