Job summary

Quanex in Jackson, GA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to oversee product and process design, manufacturability studies, plant layouts, and capital projects. You will drive design feasibility, cost estimates, and documentation across cross-functional teams.

The role requires a BS in engineering and 2+ years experience in product/design/manufacturing engineering. SolidWorks and MS Office proficiency are expected; salary ranges are provided in the posting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of two years’ experience as a product/design/manufacturing engineer or related field.
• Proficient in project management and communication skills.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess problems with manufacturing equipment.
• Proficient with SolidWorks and other applicable engineering programs.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Responsibilities

• Prepares RFEs for projects to implement new tools and equipment with large, long-term impact.
• Leads the design estimation process including feasibility, time, assembly, testing, and costs.
• Determines and calculates financial justification for projects (labor savings, efficiency, etc.).
• Develops documentation for manufacturability (BOMs, flow charts, drawings, piping, orientation).
• Communicates design intent to electrical engineering to ensure proper integration.
• Manages total project activities with a plan for timely completion on implementation teams.
• Provides technical assistance to all company departments and customer(s).
