Job summary

Timberline Manufacturing in Marion, IA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to drive production, testing and quality improvements. You will analyze processes, develop fixtures, coordinate testing, and guide assembly through rigorous work instructions.

You will support wire harness and control panel assemblies, collaborate with vendors, and use CAD tools and ERP/MRP data to reduce defects while meeting schedules.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field, with 1–2 years' experience.
• Ability to interpret/update engineering drawings for wire harness and panel assemblies.
• Assess production needs for wire harness, testing, and related quality inspections.
• Proficient in CAD: AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Arcadia.
• Experience with CNC programming.
• Understanding of ASME documentation standards.
• Develop accurate work instructions and test procedures.
• Electrical and mechanical aptitude to support wire harness and control panel assembly.
• Hands-on production support for routing, installation, and testing equipment.
• ERP/MRP, routing and BOM knowledge; UL508A recommended.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Design and coordinate testing programs for wire harness and control panel assembly.
• Lead or support process improvement and defect reduction projects.
• Create process documents and work instructions using various software tools.
• Interpret technical data to create harness and panel work instructions.
• Utilize data standards to support manufacturing processes.
• Identify and resolve production issues using root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Support outside vendors for product onboarding; training and issue resolution.
• Coordinate daily tasks with other engineering resources.
• Additional duties as assigned.
