Job summary

Spectrum Assembly, Inc. is seeking a practical, analytical Manufacturing Engineer to improve production on the shop floor and partner with Production, Quality, Operations, and Engineering teams to drive continuous improvement.

You will develop and maintain clear production documentation, analyze data to identify bottlenecks and downtime, support process capability and SPC activities, and lead root-cause investigations with cross-functional teams on-site in Carlsbad, California.

Responsibilities

• Improve manufacturing processes, workflows, and production efficiency.
• Develop and maintain clear production documentation, work instructions and DHRs.
• Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks, variation, downtime, and opportunities for improvement.
• Support process capability, quality improvement, and statistical process control activities.
• Partner with Quality to lead root-cause investigations and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Evaluate manufacturing processes for quality, efficiency, and manufacturability.
• Support new products and process changes as they move into production.
• Partner with operators, cross-functional teams and customers to identify and implement improvements.
• Support Lean, 6S, and other continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide hands-on engineering support to resolve day-to-day production challenges.
• Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
