Job summary

MilliporeSigma is seeking a 6-month Co-op starting January 4, 2027, through June 25, 2027, for an actively enrolled student in an academic program. The role focuses on reliability, spare parts sourcing, and upgrades within a life-sciences manufacturing context in Indianapolis.

Responsibilities include evaluating OEM docs, sourcing obsolete parts, and implementing upgrades while coordinating with OEM and MSIG management.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering from an ABET-accredited school.
• Basic drafting software understanding (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or ProE).
• Hands-on technical experience from internships, university machine shops, or applied engineering teams.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

• Evaluate OEM documentation against physical on-site spare parts availability.
• Source spare parts that are obsolete or hard to find.
• Recommend upgrades and retrofits of obsolete parts.
• Coordinate communication between OEM and MSIG management.
• Implement and qualify upgraded/updated spare parts to improve reliability.
• Develop a downtime tracker for equipment.
• Evaluate non-planned work orders and develop PM programs based on data and OEM recommendations.
• Support other equipment/facility reliability initiatives as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, or Industrial Engineer from an ABET accredited school
