If you're a Manufacturing Engineer who can move seamlessly between CAD/CAM programming, CNC machining, process engineering, and the production floor, this could be the opportunity you've been looking for.
We're looking for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer who doesn't just identify opportunities for improvement—you design the solution, program the process, implement it, and see the results on the floor.
CNC programming experience is a critical part of this role. We're particularly interested in engineers with hands-on experience programming production parts using SolidWorks/SolidCAM and/or Mastercam.
If you enjoy solving complex manufacturing problems, improving how things are made, and having a direct impact on quality, cost, throughput, and reliability, we'd like to hear from you.
What You'll Own
You'll have meaningful ownership of manufacturing processes, equipment, and production areas while partnering with engineering, operations, maintenance, suppliers, and customers.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Program production parts for Mazak and Tsugami CNC equipment using SolidCAM and Mastercam.
- Develop, improve, and validate machining processes with a focus on cycle time, quality, first-pass yield, capacity, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Own assigned workstations, tooling, equipment, and production lines and regularly communicate their performance and health to management.
- Analyze production data to identify root causes and develop practical, data-driven solutions to technical and manufacturing problems.
- Design and implement tooling, fixtures, and automated systems that improve quality, reduce cost, and shorten cycle time.
- Apply Design for X (DfX) principles to improve existing products and support new product introduction (NPI).
- Qualify manufacturing processes using dimensional data, control plans, PFMEAs, and other quality tools.
- Partner with suppliers and customers to investigate failures, determine root causes, and implement and validate process or design changes.
- Collaborate with operations and maintenance to introduce new equipment, processes, and manufacturing techniques.
- Develop and deliver hands‑on training to production and maintenance teams.
- Identify opportunities for automation, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement.
- Use manufacturing metrics and statistical analysis to drive measurable improvements in quality, cost, reliability, and productivity.
- Support engineering projects and other initiatives as needed.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of manufacturing engineering or closely related experience.
- Hands‑on experience programming CNC parts using SolidWorks/SolidCAM and/or Mastercam.
- Experience programming for Mazak and/or Tsugami CNC equipment preferred.
- Experience with Fanuc and/or Mazatrol controls preferred.
- Strong understanding of CNC machining processes and tooling.
- Experience working directly with production teams and manufacturing equipment.
- Strong problem‑solving and root‑cause analysis skills.
- Experience improving manufacturing quality, cost, throughput, and reliability.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and dimensional requirements.
- Strong analytical and statistical skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline from an ABET-accredited program, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
