Job summary

Orscheln Farm and Home is seeking an experienced engineer to design tooling and coordinate design, development, quoting, specifications, drawings, and vendor activity for manufacture of Orscheln products. Autonomy of activity is a function of experience, demonstrated ability and grade level.

The role requires a BSME, BSIE or two-year technical degree and a minimum of three years in engineering support. You will develop tooling, gauge fixturing, create routings, and support continuous improvement

Qualifications

• BSME, BSIE or two-year technical degree.
• Minimum three years of engineering support experience.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
• Proficient in CAD 2-D and 3-D modeling.
• Develop tooling, capital equipment, gauge and fixturing for new products.
• Define process capability through measurement, verification, process studies, documentation and statistical methods.
• Support continuous improvement team activities.

Responsibilities

• Develop tooling, capital equipment, gauge and fixturing requirements for new products.
• Proficient in CAD 2-D and 3-D modeling.
• Develop manufacturing routings.
• Execute stock requisitions, RFQs, ECRs, ECNs.
• Review production capacity.
• Define process capability through measurement and studies.
• Support continuous improvement team activities.
• Manage assigned areas of Orscheln business.
• Troubleshoot tool, equipment and process issues.
• Develop and implement error proofing.
• Assist with operator training as required.
• Develop job instruction sheets.
• MRB authority/disposition.
