Manufacturing Engineer, Battery Equipment Development

What To Expect

Tesla is seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Engineer to develop and deploy manufacturing equipment in our advanced battery factories. Battery development is central to our company, offering an exciting opportunity to work on innovations in electric vehicle battery architecture, reliability, and cost. Tesla's fast-paced environment requires working with a dedicated team on challenging projects.

What You'll Do
  • Establish equipment requirements and develop design concepts.
  • Create new manufacturing equipment for high-volume production.
  • Manage specifications and RFQ processes for new equipment.
  • Lead projects from concept to production launch.
  • Oversee detailed design of manufacturing equipment.
  • Develop validation plans for equipment.
  • Coordinate factory readiness and equipment installation.
  • Serve as lead Manufacturing Engineer or Project Manager for automated equipment.
  • Transition products from prototypes to large-scale production.
  • Willingness to travel abroad up to 50%.
What You'll Bring
  • 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Mechanical design and CAD layout experience.
  • Knowledge of tolerancing and GD&T.
  • Understanding of manufacturing safety systems.
  • Experience with equipment installations and product launches.
  • Experience implementing large manufacturing lines.
  • Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience.
