Job summary

Yetter Manufacturing is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer – Automation Specialist in Macomb, Illinois to lead automation projects and improve processes. You will design, implement and validate automation solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams to cut costs and boost productivity.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering and at least five years of manufacturing automation experience, with strong CAD CREO skills and knowledge of robotics, PLCs, and machine vision.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
  • Minimum 5 years in manufacturing engineering with automation focus.
  • Strong knowledge of robotics, PLCs and machine vision.
  • Experience leading automation projects end-to-end.
  • CAD experience with CREO preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical and communication skills.

Manufacturing Engineer – Automation Specialist

Yetter Manufacturing is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer – Automation Specialist to join our team in Macomb, Illinois. If you enjoy solving complex manufacturing challenges, implementing automation solutions, and driving continuous improvement, we’d love to hear from you!

What You’ll Do
  • Design, develop, and implement automation systems to improve manufacturing processes, increase productivity, and reduce costs
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop and execute automation projects from conception to completion, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Conduct process improvement studies to identify opportunities
  • Develop and maintain documentation for automation systems including schematics, process flow diagrams, and work instructions
  • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to source and evaluate new automative technologies and systems
  • Train employees on the operation and maintenance of automation systems
  • Troubleshoot automation equipment and develop solutions to improve performance and reliability
  • Ensure automation systems comply with safety standards and regulatory requirements
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing engineering or related experience with a focus on automation
  • Strong knowledge of automation technologies, including robotics, PLC programming, and machine vision systems
  • Demonstrated experience leading automation projects from concept through implementation
  • Experience with CAD software (CREO a plus) and automation simulation tools
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of safety and regulatory requirements related to automation systems
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screening
Role Specifics
  • First Shift: 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, plus required overtime as scheduled
  • Work is primarily performed in manufacturing environments with frequent interaction on the production floor and regular exposure to machinery, noise, varying seasonal temperatures, and other typical factory conditions.
  • Self-motivated and capable of leading multiple projects, managing competing priorities, and meeting deadlines
