Job summary

Superior Aerospace is seeking an experienced Manufacturing / Process Engineer to support the design, development, and continuous improvement of precision-machined components and assemblies for the aerospace and general aviation industries. This role is hands-on and instrumental in ensuring efficient, repeatable, and cost-effective production of high-quality parts.

You thrive in a hands-on manufacturing environment, with deep experience in CNC machining, tooling design, and process engineering

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in aerospace, aviation, or precision manufacturing.
  • Strong ability to interpret and apply GD&T (ANSI Y14.5).
  • Solid understanding of process control, machining workflows, and routing.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting ability with CNC, manual machines, and NC programming.
  • Ability to read and understand G-code, with parametric macro familiarity.
  • MasterCAM (2024 or newer) CAM programming proficiency.
  • Preferred CAD: AutoCAD or BricsCAD (2D drafting).
  • Preferred CAD: Creo Parametric (v11+) (3D modeling).
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience with quality systems, document control, and contract review.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T callouts, and 3D CAD models.
  • Create, update, and manage 2D and 3D CAD models.
  • Develop, document, and improve manufacturing processes for CNC and manual machining.
  • Design and implement tooling, fixtures, and work-holding solutions.
  • Build routing sheets, part travelers, and establish time and labor standards.
  • Troubleshoot machining, programming, and process-related issues.
  • Support quality, document control, and production workflow requirements.
  • Partner closely with operators and production staff to meet part specifications.
  • Drive continuous improvement, efficiency gains, and cost reduction projects.
