Qualifications

  • Experience with industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, Profinet, Modbus).
  • Familiarity with MES integration and data collection systems.
  • Exposure to Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing principles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day manufacturing engineering support for air-cooled chiller production operations.
  • Lead resolution of complex manufacturing issues involving mechanical assemblies, electrical systems, controls, and testing processes.
  • Identify and eliminate manufacturing constraints that impact safety, quality, delivery, or cost.
  • Support production teams in achieving operational performance objectives.
  • Develop, implement, and improve manufacturing processes for mechanical assembly, electrical integration, and factory testing operations.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives that improve product quality, throughput, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, work instructions, process flows, and standard operating procedures.
  • Partner with Industrial Engineering on factory flow, capacity, and productivity improvement initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot electrical assemblies, control panels, wiring systems, sensors, actuators, and communication networks.
  • Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and controls documentation to support manufacturing operations.
  • Support root cause investigations related to electrical, controls, and software-related production issues.
  • Develop and improve manufacturing processes for electrical assembly and test operations.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical assembly issues involving refrigeration systems, piping, structural assemblies, and electromechanical components.
  • Support process improvements related to assembly methods, tooling, fixtures, and material presentation.
  • Collaborate with Product Engineering to improve manufacturability and assembly efficiency.
  • Support new product launches through process development, production readiness activities, and manufacturing validation.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) feedback.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes can meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost requirements before launch.

Title: Manufacturing Engineer - ADV

Location: Charlotte NC (Onsite)

Job Type: 12-Month Contract to Extend

Shift:

2nd shift will need to be able to work either:

1) Mon-Thu, 10 Hours, 4:30 PM - 3:00 AM

2) Mon-Fri, 8-hours, 2:30-11:00

Position Summary:

The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer serves as the primary technical resource supporting air-cooled chiller manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for improving manufacturing processes, resolving complex production issues, supporting new product introductions, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across mechanical assembly, electrical integration, controls systems, and product testing. The Manufacturing Engineer partners closely with Operations, Quality, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Product Engineering to ensure safe, efficient, and repeatable manufacturing processes that meet customer quality, delivery, and cost expectations. This position requires a strong understanding of both mechanical and electrical systems and the ability to troubleshoot complex manufacturing issues spanning product design, assembly processes, controls, and testing..

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day manufacturing engineering support for air-cooled chiller production operations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or Technology.
  • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing engineering or automation experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, Profinet, Modbus, etc.).
  • Familiarity with MES integration and data collection systems.
  • Exposure to Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
  • Shift will be based on business needs. Do not plan to change it unless rotation needed for coverage purposes.

Must be available to work OT as needed to support production. OT is subject to change.
