Job summary

Qualifications

• 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
• Automotive experience in Body in White, Paint, or Assembly preferred.
• Ability to present complex technical information clearly.
• Capable of motivating and directing team members at all levels.
• Background in manpower distribution based on targets.
• Experience with value stream mapping to reduce waste.
• Knowledge of process layout and optimization is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plans and designs manufacturing processes in an industrial plant.
• Improve production methods, determine capacity, and set up production schedules.
• Support design, fabrication, modification and evaluation for machining, metal forming, plastics processing, welding and brazing, assembly and material handling.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enable Lean Manufacturing.
• Ensure highly technical equipment meets specifications and quality standards.
• Implement cost reduction initiatives while maintaining high quality.
• Contribute to product and process quality design testing methods.
• Stay current with product specifications, engineering tech and production processes.
• Provide guidance to less senior manufacturing engineers.
• May act as deputy for Production Manager.
• Propose and manage medium-scale projects from start to finish.

Plans and designs manufacturing processes in an industrial plant.

Improve production methods, determine manufacturing capacity, and set up production schedules

Provides support in the design, fabrication, modification, and evaluation in support of manufacturing operations such as machining, metal forming, plastics processing, welding and brazing, assembly, and material handling

Manage the implementation of continuous improvement processes for efficiency to create a Lean Manufacturing environment.

Periodically ensures that highly technical equipment meets required specifications and high quality standards

Implements cost reduction initiatives while maintaining high quality standards

Contributes to product and process quality design testing methods

Stays current with product specifications, engineering technology and production processes

Provides guidance to less senior manufacturing engineers.

May act as deputy for Production Manager

Proposes and manages medium-scale projects from beginning to end.

Over 5 years of relevant experience required, strongly preferring automotive, such as Body in White, Paint, and Assembly.

Ability to present complex technical information related to achieving goals of the department.

Motivate, develop, direct and influence team members at all levels and cultural backgrounds of the organization.

Able to anticipate needs and deliver timely, relevant solutions and actions.

Background in manpower distribution based on production and efficiency targets.

Experience in process layout and optimization incorporating asset utilization is a plus.

Knowledge of value stream mapping to reduce waste and improve output in a production environment is desired.

Proven written and verbal communication to all levels.
