Chipton-Ross is seeking 10 Manufacturing Engineers (Level 3) for a contract opportunity in North Charleston, SC.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE)
- Must have a Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an ABET accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry and applicable experience in a professional exempt engineering classification.
- 5+ or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
- 5+ years of engineering experience related to the development, selection and/or revision of parts, materials, and process specifications for production testing, electrical subsystems, aircraft interiors and other aircraft systems.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement production and tooling methodologies.
- Participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to integrate technical solutions across multiple disciplines.
- Develop, identify, and implement conceptual designs while maintaining the program architecture for build.
- Lead and implement manufacturing plans.
- Conduct producibility and variation analyses to ensure manufacturing process capability aligns with requirements.
- Assist in providing producibility information for project plans and document best practices.
- Analyze design/build concepts to evaluate producible design/build definitions.
- Resolve technical problems that significantly impact performance, cost or schedule.
- Coordinate and implement new engineering principles, theories, advanced technologies and concepts.
- Validate and ensure production readiness of solutions to complex problems.
- Implement lean principles and technologies.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE)
- 5+ years of experience in production planning, including ownership of value stream build plans.
- Experience with 787 systems, build plans, production testing, electrical installations and/or aircraft interiors is a plus.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a diverse and demanding work environment and schedule.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
WORK HOURS
FULL TIME/VARIABLE SHIFT; 1st shift (7AM-330PM) OR 2nd shift (3PM-11PM).
