Job description

This posting is for a contract assignment and is not a full-time employment offer with Boeing. Candidates selected for roles will be employed as contract workers through a Boeing approved 3rd party for the duration of the specified project.

The Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT&E) team is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our growing team in Berkeley, MO. Due to the growth in the St. Louis Structures and Materials Test Lab, we are looking for Manufacturing Engineers to join our team. The Manufacturing Engineer is an assembly and installation engineer within Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) that supports fabrication planning & setup/installation by providing design review, manufacturing plan authorship, and fabrication sourcing (inside and outside of Boeing) followed by support at the aircraft during installation or in the laboratory during setup. They are also expected to work closely with our in-house shop team comprised of tooling and aircraft mechanics which support our operations.

The Structures Lab supports the full structural testing needs of the BDS Programs in St. Louis and St. Charles, including component tests up to full-scale aircraft testing.

Manufacturing Engineers are owners of the build plan and ensure compliance to design configuration, build plan, and process requirements. Manufacturing Engineering performs Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) analysis and develops an integrated build plan consisting of work instructions for assembly/fabrication, kitting, tooling, inspection requirements, and other outputs to ensure fabrication meets design, test, and program requirements.

As part of this team, you will have the opportunity to work on the latest military weapons and aircraft programs, such as: T-7A Redhawk, MQ-25A Stingray, various Phantom Works programs, various Boeing Weapons programs, and our legacy programs like F-15 and F/A-18 into the future.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate, Experienced and Senior Level Manufacturing Engineers.

Position Responsibilities

  • Sourcing of fabrication & assembly including work statement creation as needed
  • Fabrication coordination and liaison
  • Part sourcing from production
  • Procurement of parts/material to support test
  • Coordination with supplier management

    • Test engineers and technicians
    • Instrumentation engineers
    • Boeing program engineers
    • Boeing customers
    • Fabrication technicians and support personnel (material management)
