Job summary

ebm-papst in Tennessee is seeking a manufacturing engineer to independently support and improve production processes, ensuring efficiency, quality, and schedule adherence. You will lead the development and optimization of new and existing processes to boost capacity and reduce costs.

You will drive Lean initiatives, perform root-cause analyses, and guide cross-functional teams, including entry-level engineers. Proficiency in SAP, CAD tools (SolidWorks/AutoCAD), and MS Office is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering; or minimum 5-10 years related experience; or a combination of the two.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean principles and manufacturing systems (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and optimization of new and existing production processes to improve efficiency, capacity, and cost.
  • Lead complex troubleshooting and root cause analysis for production and quality issues.
  • Develop and implement process flows, layouts, and line strategies for new or transferred production lines.
  • Play a lead technical role in supplier evaluation including capability assessment, tolerances, and tooling design review.
  • Lead Continuous Improvement (CIP) and Lean initiatives with measurable business impact.
  • Coordinate and drive updates to process documentation and standardization efforts.
  • Lead capital equipment selection, implementation, and validation activities.
  • Provide technical guidance to entry - level engineers and cross-functional teams.
  • Use required software tools including SAP, CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar), and Microsoft Office applications.

Summary

Essential Functions of the Job
  • Lead development and optimization of new and existing production processes to improve efficiency, capacity, and cost.
  • Lead complex troubleshooting and root cause analysis for production and quality issues.
  • Develop and implement process flows, layouts, and line strategies for new or transferred production lines.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
MRPII-related (SAP) activities this position supports include:
  • Process routing ownership and optimization

  • Work center cost and performance analysis
Recommended Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering; or minimum 5-10 years related experience; or a combination of the two.

Strong knowledge of Lean principles and manufacturing systems (preferred).
