Job summary

Moog Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer 1 to support the Motors production line and coordinate with outsource vendors in Blacksburg, VA.

The role includes overseeing process development with a global team and creating tooling, work instructions, and labor standards to improve manufacturability. The position requires a engineering degree (or equivalent with related experience) and strong teamwork and communication skills; travel is expected for supplier and project activities.

Responsibilities

• Support Motors production line and outsource vendors.
• Oversee manufacturing process development with domestic and international teams.
• Create engineering and tool drawings and order tooling and work instructions.
• Review quotes for new orders and participate in cost improvements.
• Conduct design reviews for manufacturability with mechanical and electrical aspects.
• Travel domestically and internationally when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in an engineering field OR Bachelor's degree with relative work experience in a manufacturing environment OR an associate degree with 3 years of related experience in a manufacturing role.
• Experience working in a team environment
• Experience communicating with internal and external customers, coworkers, and other disciplines across the business

Responsibilities

• Work and maintain confidential information.
• You will be the support to the Motors production line and Outsource Vendors.
• Oversee the manufacturing process development with a domestic and international team.
• Create engineering and tool drawings, order and support manufacturing tooling, work instructions, labor standards, facility layout, quotes and continuous improvement.
• Review and respond to request for quotes on new orders.
• Conduct mechanical and electrical manufacturing design reviews and offer improvement suggestions for manufacturability.
• Travel off-Site travel domestically and internationally
• Enforce and follow policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements as they apply such as ITAR
• Provide reports to management on daily, weekly, and monthly performance to schedules and expenditures
• Support technical exchange discussions with suppliers and Moog.
• Cross-train to help in other areas.
• Complete any other tasks as assigned by direct supervisor or operations manager.

Salary Range

Blacksburg, VA $65,000.00-$80,000.00
