Job description

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for applying engineering principles and analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and products.
  • Investigate and solve problems related to tooling, equipment, and processes.
  • Analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow; design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement changes to improve manufacturing processes and product quality.
  • Assist the Process Line Manager in developing capital and expense budgets.
  • Evaluate new products and make recommendations regarding manufacturing feasibility.
  • Train department personnel in safety, setup, operations, and troubleshooting of existing and new equipment.
  • Estimate production rates, setup, and tooling costs for inquiries and new part setups.
  • May specialize in skills such as PLC programming, welding, automation, vision systems, etc.
  • May be assigned specific authority within the job scope by the manager.
  • Have the authority to initiate actions to prevent violations of the Federal-Mogul Integrity Policy.
  • Abide by the plant's safety policy, comply with legal and operational requirements, and work towards achieving safety and quality objectives.
  • Report activities that do not conform to policies or may cause injury.
  • Provide support as requested by the supervisor.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills on the shop floor.
  • Maintain a sense of urgency and results orientation.
  • Show leadership qualities.
  • Possess extensive knowledge and practical application of Lean techniques.
Education:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a related engineering field, with 5 or more years of relevant experience. Experience in CQI standards (CQI23, CQI12, CQI30) or a combination of relevant education and experience.

Experience:

Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily. Experience and education should be related to manufacturing, industrial, electrical, mechanical, or similar fields. Experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
