Responsibilities

  • Reverse engineering using dimensional analysis and material characterization.
  • Design and draft components with CAD software.
  • Participate in vendor capability research, evaluation, and selection.
  • Complete FAA and AS9100 QMS documentation for processes.
  • Prepare FAA-PMA documentation for product submissions.
  • Coordinate with FAA Engineering representatives as needed.
  • Evaluate new incoming products under QMS guidelines.
  • Test new products in compliance with QMS standards.
  • Develop detailed Work Instructions for production per QMS.
  • Develop Packaging and Marking Instructions per QMS.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Quality Engineer through production stages.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Manufacturing Engineer supports product development and manufacturing operations within an FAA-PMA and AS9100 regulated environment. This position is responsible for reverse engineering, component design and drafting, product evaluation and testing, and the development of manufacturing documentation. The role works closely with Quality and other internal teams to ensure products, processes, and documentation meet FAA, AS9100, and internal Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Carry out reverse engineering processes, including dimensional analysis and material characterization.
  • Design and draft components using CAD software.
  • Participate in vendor capability research, evaluation, and selection.
  • Complete FAA and AS9100 Quality Management System documentation for all applicable processes.
  • Prepare FAA-PMA-specific documentation for product submissions.
  • Coordinate with FAA Engineering representatives as required.
  • Evaluate new incoming products in accordance with the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Perform testing of new products in compliance with QMS standards.
  • Develop detailed Work Instructions for production as required by the QMS.
  • Develop Packaging and Marking Instructions in accordance with QMS requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Manufacturing Quality Engineer throughout all stages of the production process.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering from a US accredited institution.
  • Must become familiar with and adhere to Quality Management System (QMS) requirements for manufacturing under FAA-PMA and ISO 9100 standards.
