Job summary

ACE Thermal Systems designs, engineers, manufactures, and supports high‑performance ECS and components for extreme temperature and operating conditions in aerospace applications. The Manufacturing Engineer will test components, refine designs on the production floor, troubleshoot problems, and work with design engineers to implement changes that improve producibility and reduce costs.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
  • 0–2 years of hands-on mechanical engineering experience.
  • Experience in aerospace, automotive, HVAC, or similar manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Able to work on-site in Thornton, CO.
  • Proficient in SolidWorks and Lean Six Sigma methodologies.

At ACE Thermal Systems, we design, engineer, manufacture, and support high-performance environmental control systems (ECS) and components for extreme temperature and operating conditions and reliable everyday use in aircraft. Position Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer plays a key role in making sure components and parts work as intended. In this hands‑on role you’ll test components and refine product designs right there on the production floor. From troubleshooting engineering problems, ensuring assembled parts work as intended, and identifying failure points. Then provide recommendations and changes to design engineers, ensuring changes are made and ensuring production issues get resolved.

You’ll develop tools, implement designs, and integrate machinery, equipment or computer technologies to ensure effective manufacturing processes and refine product designs to increase component producibility and decrease production costs. In addition you will...

  • Develop Manufacturing Processes and work instructions.
  • Resolve production issues first to build evaluations and production line issues.
  • Measure parts to ensure proper fits are obtained.
  • Resolve issues with products that occur during the assembly or testing process.
  • Resolve issues with non-conforming products from outside suppliers.
  • Determine root cause of failures using statistical methods and recommend changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods.
  • Design and purchase Production Tooling for test fixtures, assembly fixtures to reduce labor and ensure quality for the required tooling to assemble parts effectively.
  • Provide technical expertise or support related to manufacturing.
  • Train production personnel in new or existing methods.
  • Design, install, or troubleshoot manufacturing equipment.
  • Create and maintain written process instructions and other instructional documents.
  • Analyze data gathered and develop solutions or alternative methods of proceeding.
  • Purchase tooling for production areas.
  • Evaluate self-work to ensure compliance with work instructions and standards.
  • Evaluate processes and assemblies and identify areas where improvements can be made.
  • Identify opportunities or implement changes to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials and parts.
  • Incorporate new methods and processes to improve existing operations.
  • Improve work methods and tooling.

NOTE: It should be noted that this position will require regular use of hands, fingers, handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls. And will require regular walking, sitting, stooping, bending, and movement about the office.

Requirements
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
  • 0-2 years of related experience in a hands‑on mechanical engineering capacity.
  • Experience in aerospace, automotive, HVAC, or similar manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Able to work on‑site in our Thornton, CO facility is required.
  • Proficient use in 3D modeling software SolidWorks or equivalent.
  • Proficient use of Visual MRP system.
  • Proficient in Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
