HTI is searching for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer for an opportunity with a Tier-1 Automotive Supplier in the Summerville, SC area. This role supports manufacturing processes, drives continuous improvement, and helps optimize safety, quality, cost, and delivery within a highly automated production environment. This is a full-time, onsite, direct-hire position.

What You Need
- BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering preferred
- OR AS degree in an engineering field with relevant experience
- 3–5+ years in automated or semi-automated manufacturing
- Strong understanding of manufacturing, assembly, and CNC machining processes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and pneumatic diagrams
- Knowledge of electro-mechanical systems and CNC programming/troubleshooting
- Experience launching new equipment
- Structured problem-solving experience (A3, 5Y, 8D, Ishikawa, PDCA, DMAIC, Shainin, etc.)
- Experience with PLC logic, vision systems, force/distance control, torque systems, and marking systems
- Familiarity with Tier-1 / Tier-2 automotive supplier expectations
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with Tier-1/Tier-2 automotive standards and expectations
- Knowledge of electro-mechanical systems
- German language skills are a plus
What Your Role Will Look Like
- Review safety, quality, operational, and maintenance reports to identify improvement opportunities
- Evaluate equipment performance and implement improvements to productivity, efficiency, cost, and safety
- Develop and maintain Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEAs, and manufacturing documentation
- Create and update work instructions, training materials, and standard work
- Implement lean practices including 5S, kanban, poke-yoke, visual management, and single-piece flow
- Drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions using structured problem-solving tools
- Develop and maintain parameters, recipes, and process capability for new and existing products
- Support cross-functional manufacturing activities and plant-wide audits/standards compliance (IATF 16949, ISO 14001, VDA, etc.)
- Launch new equipment and support CNC programming/troubleshooting needs
- Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives
