Job summary

National Carwash Solutions, based in Sheridan, WY, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to optimize operations, processes, equipment and systems across multiple facilities. You will collaborate with engineering to analyze production methods and implement changes to reduce costs, improve quality, and increase productivity, while supporting safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires a bachelor’s in engineering and several years in manufacturing, with Lean methodologies experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing, industrial engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in manufacturing setting (preferred).
  • Experience with robotic welding –OR- paint/coating systems a plus.
  • Ability to read and understand piece part and welding blueprints as designed by the Engineering Department.
  • Demonstrated understanding and use of Lean tools and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and/or as part of a cross functional team.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to support other manufacturing sites on projects (10-15%).
  • Strong mathematical abilities.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in ACAD, SolidWorks, preferred.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Establish best practices, document and implement standard work.
  • Inspect equipment being designed and built to ensure items meet engineering specs.
  • Involve in the design process of fixtures, templates, locators in manufacturing.
  • Create and maintain fixtures, templates, locators and related equipment.
  • Contribute to culture of continuous improvement.
  • Review and analyze manufacturing functions; suggest improvements for efficiency, quality, safety and cost.
  • Provide programming assistance on various manufacturing machines; train employees as needed.
  • Review cost-saving ideas from employees related to manufacturing processes.
  • Act as liaison between engineering and manufacturing; align specs with production needs.
  • Train manufacturing staff on processes and procedures.
  • Participate in sourcing projects; document or reverse engineer items for in-house manufacture.
  • Comply with OSHA, EPA, local laws and company safety policies.
  • Management may adjust duties as needed.

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will establish and maintain optimal utilization of our operations facilities, manufacturing processes, equipment and systems. You will develop, determine, standardize, and document solutions and new approaches to process problems. Successful candidates will be capable of working closely with others to drive analysis of existing production processes and develop recommendations for changes to working methods or operation sequences that will minimize risks, costs, and wastage; increase productivity; and improve the quality and consistency of our products.

THIS POSITION IS BASED in Sheridan, WY with travel as indicated below.

What You’ll Do…
  • Establish best practices, document and implement standard work
  • Inspect equipment being designed and built utilizing the appropriate measuring device to ensure items meet Engineering specifications
  • Be involved with the complete design process and execution, of the fixtures, templates, locators, etc. used in the manufacturing process in both assembly and welding
  • Construction and maintenance of fixtures, templates, locators and miscellaneous equipment used in the manufacturing process
  • Play an active role in the culture of continuous improvement
  • Review and analyze manufacturing functions, submitting suggestions to improve efficiency, quality, safety and cost
  • Provide programming assistance on various manufacturing machines and may train employees to perform the same
  • Review cost savings or any type of other suggestion submitted by employees pertaining to the manufacturing process. Participates in investigating and responding to the same
  • Act as a liaison between engineering and manufacturing. Coordinating manufacturing abilities with engineering specifications and requests, and product design requirements
  • Work with manufacturing management to provide practical training for the manufacturing process
  • Play an active role on in sourcing projects that may include documenting or reverse engineering items to be made in house
  • Comply with all applicable OSHA, EPA, local regulatory laws, and company safety policies
  • Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of this position at any time
What You Need…
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing, industrial engineering or industrial technology (preferred) -OR- Equivalent Work history may be considered
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in manufacturing setting (preferred)
  • Experience with robotic welding –OR- paint/coating systems a plus.
  • Ability to read and understand piece part and welding blue prints as designed by the Engineering Department
  • Demonstrated understanding and use of Lean tools and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and/or as part as a cross functional team
  • Ability to travel occasionally to support other manufacturing sites on projects. 10-15%

Physical Requirements
  • Must stoop, bend, reach, walk; perform repetitive motions using hands to grasp, push, pull or do fine manipulations

  • Intermittently lift light to medium weight up to 50 lbs.
