Job summary

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to shape aerospace manufacturing. Location is Savannah, GA with a $55/hour pay rate and a full-time first shift schedule.

You will drive process excellence in high-impact environments, develop MBOMs in SAP/SOLUMINA/Corridor, and implement lean/six sigma improvements. Requirements include a Bachelor's in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering and 18 months of related experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 18 months of experience in manufacturing engineering or related technical field.
• Experience with Lean and Six Sigma principles is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct technical analyses to improve production methods, tooling, layout and material flow.
• Develop work instructions to optimize efficiency and reduce defects.
• Create MBOMs using SAP, Solumina or Corridor and ensure complete capture.
• Draft rework instructions to support quality initiatives and corrective actions.
• Assess manufacturability and participate in Design for Manufacturing reviews.
• Use statistics to forecast requirements and analyze performance.
• Support make-or-buy decisions and vendor evaluations.
• Lead cross-functional projects with minimal supervision.
• Integrate Lean and Six Sigma into new and existing processes.
• Support safety, sustainability and business continuity initiatives.
• Audit work and document outputs daily/weekly.

Location: Savannah, GA | Pay Rate: $55/hour | Schedule: Full-Time, 1st Shift (5am - 3:30pm)

PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aerospace industry to hire an experienced Manufacturing Engineer ready to drive process excellence and operational performance.

In this role, you'll work in a high-impact production or post-production environment, solving complex manufacturing challenges, optimizing processes, and driving operational excellence. Your work will directly influence the quality, efficiency, and reliability of cutting-edge aerospace products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct technical analyses and studies to recommend improvements in production methods, tooling, layout, and material flow.
• Develop detailed work instructions that optimize efficiency, reduce defects, and ensure compliance with engineering requirements.
• Create Manufacturing Bills of Materials (MBOM) using SAP, Solumina, or Corridor, ensuring all components are captured in the production process.
• Draft rework instructions (DRDI/DMT) to support corrective action and quality improvement initiatives.
• Perform productibility assessments to align engineering designs with manufacturability, and participate in Design for Manufacturing reviews.
• Use statistical methods to forecast manufacturing requirements and analyze operational performance.
• Support procurement decisions by assisting in make-or-buy proposals and vendor evaluations.
• Lead or coordinate cross-functional project implementation with minimal supervision.
• Integrate Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles into new and existing processes.
• Support safety, sustainability, ergonomic, and business continuity initiatives across operations.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and proactively recommend improvements.
• Audit peer work and maintain accurate documentation of daily and weekly outputs.

Required and Preferred Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field), or equivalent education and experience.
• Minimum of 18 months of experience in manufacturing engineering, production planning, or a related technical field.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of Lean and/or Six Sigma principles (Green Belt certification or higher preferred).
• Proficiency in engineering systems such as SAP, Solumina (preferred), CATIA, Corridor, and CADAM.
• Solid understanding of engineering drawings, quality control, tooling, and safety practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project coordination skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

Pay Details:

$55.00 per hour
