Job summary

Impact Employment Solutions in Savannah, GA seeks an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to support continuous production operations. This hands-on role focuses on equipment reliability, troubleshooting, process improvement, and root cause analysis.

You will work on supporting production equipment, read drawings and specs, identify improvements, and collaborate with maintenance and operations. Experience in manufacturing environments and safety practices is preferred.

  • Troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and processes using structured problem-solving.
  • Provide engineering support for continuous production equipment and systems.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, specs, schematics, and documentation.
  • Identify improvements to increase reliability, safety, quality and production performance.
  • Partner with maintenance and operations to resolve issues.
  • Support equipment modifications, upgrades, installations and CIP projects.
  • Translate technical information for operations and maintenance personnel.
  • Participate in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and Process Safety Management (PSM) activities.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to support continuous production operations at our Savannah, GA facility. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on equipment reliability, troubleshooting, process improvement, and root cause analysis.

The ideal candidate has experience working in a manufacturing, OEM, engineering design, or continuous production environment and is comfortable working directly with production equipment and partnering with maintenance and operations teams.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and process issues using structured problem-solving and root cause analysis.
  • Provide engineering support for continuous production equipment and systems.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Identify improvements to increase equipment reliability, safety, quality, and production performance.
  • Partner with maintenance and operations teams to resolve equipment and production issues.
  • Support equipment modifications, upgrades, installations, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Translate technical information into practical guidance for operations and maintenance personnel.
  • Participate in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and Process Safety Management (PSM) activities as needed.
  • Create or modify technical drawings and documentation when required.

Qualifications

  • Engineering experience within manufacturing, OEM, engineering design, or a similar industrial environment.
  • Experience supporting continuous production equipment or process systems preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
  • Advanced ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and multidisciplinary engineering fundamentals.
  • Exposure to PHA, PSM, or similar industrial safety methodologies.
  • Ability to work hands-on within an active manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience troubleshooting and improving continuous production equipment.

Physical & Work Environment

Candidates must be comfortable working in an industrial manufacturing environment, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.

The work environment may include elevated noise levels, heat, cold, humidity, vibration, industrial equipment, and other manufacturing conditions. Required PPE and safety procedures must be followed.

What We're Looking For

We need an engineer who is comfortable getting out on the production floor and solving problems. The right candidate will be technically strong, hands-on, safety-conscious, and able to determine why equipment or processes are failing and develop solutions to prevent recurring issues.
