The Opportunity

This position works out of our Santa Clara location in the Structural Heart division.

Structural Heart Business Mission: Why We Exist

Our business purpose is to restore health and improve quality of life by designing and providing device and management solutions for treating structural heart disease.

As the Manufacturing Engineer you’ll have the chance to support the operations and production team to ensure a consistent throughput while troubleshooting and resolving process issues. This position will manage projects aimed towards designing and developing manufacturing processes, tooling, and fixtures to meet daily production schedules while enhancing productivity and product quality.

This role offers a great opportunity for any passionate individual that enjoys problem solving and collaborative work environment. This individual will be able to make a mark on the organization as a leader, while working on state-of-the-art product. This role directly impacts the success of a new product launch and ramp and in turn, will be able to make a significant impact in the organization.

What You’ll Work On

Manufacturing Engineer should:

  • Be innovative, resourceful, and work with minimal direction
  • Have excellent organization, problem solving, communication, and team leadership skills
  • Work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Assist with the design and development of process improvements aimed at increasing production throughput and minimizing downtime. This can be done through:
    • Assessing and improving current manufacturing procedures
    • Introducing new process aids/fixtures
    • Developing new systems for effectively controlling material flow
  • Be capable of assessing station process takt times to determine process bottle necks and identify improvement priorities
  • Be able to own Non-Conformance Report investigations and execute root-cause analysis
  • Be able to perform process/equipment validation, including generating applicable protocols and reports
  • Be able to generate and modify manufacturing process documentation
  • Be able to implement 5S practices to existing and developing processes to improve efficiency and productivity
  • Be capable of managing and leading small-scale projects from initiation to implementation. This includes:
    • Serving as the Subject Matter Expert for the project
    • Organizing and aligning with the cross-functional team to ensure all stakeholder priorities are addressed
    • Communicating project status and timeline updates to the management team
Required Qualifications

  • Mechanical, Chemical, Biomedical or any engineering or technical degree or equivalent experience required
  • 0-3 years manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills
  • Demonstrated leadership capability in team settings
  • Ability to lead and motivate peers, drive change and problem solve with creativity
  • Ability to travel approximately 10%, including internationally.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior manufacturing/Medical device engineering experience
  • Working in a regulated industry

The base pay for this position is $72,100.00 – $114,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
