Role Description

The Manufacturing Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in San Diego, CA. This role is responsible for developing, optimizing, and documenting manufacturing processes for vacuum sealers, including assembly, machining, and testing operations. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing production workflows, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and quality improvement, and collaborating with design, production, and quality teams to implement engineering changes. The Manufacturing Engineer will troubleshoot manufacturing issues, support new product introductions, create or update work instructions and technical documentation, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. The role also involves working with suppliers and internal stakeholders to maintain efficient production and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of Manufacturing Processes and practical experience optimizing production workflows.
  • Applied expertise in Manufacturing Engineering, with the ability to develop and refine assembly and testing procedures.
  • Background in Industrial Engineering, including process improvement, lean principles, and cost reduction strategies.
  • Solid foundation in Mechanical Engineering, with the ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and mechanical designs.
  • Hands-on familiarity with Machining operations and manufacturing methods used for precision components.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in a small-to-medium manufacturing environment, preferably equipment or machinery production.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools and basic understanding of ERP/MRP systems is beneficial.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and safety.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively on-site with cross-functional teams and communicate clearly in written and verbal form.
