Job summary

Zap Surgical Systems in San Carlos, CA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join the team and help build the world’s first vault-free, cobalt-free radiosurgery platform. The role focuses on assembly/test processes, DFx decisions, and drafting manufacturing documentation to meet regulatory guidelines.

You will collaborate with R&D to release new products, design and refine mechanical assemblies and electrical cabinets, and establish efficient mid-volume production lines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical or related field.
• 5-7 years manufacturing engineering experience, at least 3 years in medical devices.
• Strong communication and project management skills.
• Experience with design process improvement and manufacturing documentation.
• Proficient in SOLIDWORKS and basic electrical cabinet layouts.

Responsibilities

• Act as liaison with R&D to release new products and improve manufacturability and testability.
• Modify/design mechanical assemblies, layouts, schematics, and/or detailed drawings/specs for electrical cabinets and PDPs.
• Define, develop, and document assembly and test procedures.
• Create an efficient mid-volume manufacturing assembly line and refine BOMs and workflows.
• Provide product training and support to production and field personnel.
• Review, control, and maintain product docs (drawings, BOMs).
• Support supplier corrective actions to eliminate material non-conformances.
• Perform failure analysis and support installations at customer sites with travel as needed.
