Job summary

Martin Sprocket & Gear is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in California. The role focuses on developing standard drawings, 3D models, and BOMs, while collaborating with manufacturing, sales, and quality teams to meet customer specifications.

The successful candidate will bring a Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering and at least 2 years of manufacturing experience, with strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or related field is required.
  • Minimum 2 years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in drafting; knowledge of Inventor/AutoCAD/SolidEdge a plus.
  • Attention to detail in all tasks and designs.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Self-motivated with goal orientation and accountability.
  • Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
  • Ability to adapt to change and drive improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in an immersive training program to build foundational knowledge and skills.

What You’ll Do
  • Complete hands‑on training: Participate in an immersive training program to gain foundational knowledge and practical skills in design engineering processes.
  • Develop standard drawings: Create and refine standard drawings within a regulated environment, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Project management: Oversee projects from start to finish, including the delivery of approval drawings, manufacturing prints, and bills of materials.
  • 3D modeling and layout creation: Generate detailed 3D assemblies and layout drawings for conveying equipment, ensuring precision and functionality.
  • Pricing model development and quoting: Design pricing models and prepare accurate quotes for custom, made‑to‑order components to meet client specifications.
  • Collaboration with cross‑functional teams: Work closely with manufacturing, sales, and quality teams to align design with production capabilities and customer expectations.
  • Continuous improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve design standards, and support cost‑saving initiatives.
What You’ll Bring
  • Educational background: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Manufacturing experience: Minimum of 2 years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Mechanical aptitude: Strong technical skills and understanding of mechanical concepts.
  • Drafting software skills: Familiarity with Inventor, AutoCAD, or SolidEdge is a plus.
  • Attention to detail: Highly detail‑oriented in all aspects of work.
  • Customer service commitment: Dedicated to delivering excellent customer service and upholding Martin's standards.
  • Communication skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.

Your Schedule
  • Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Wage Information
  • Annual Salary: $71,000 - $85,000
