Job summary

Martin Sprocket & Gear Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in California to contribute to precision-engineered power transmission solutions. The role focuses on training, drafting, project management, and cross-functional collaboration to align design with production capabilities.

You’ll develop 3D models and layouts, build pricing models for custom components, and drive continuous improvements with a strong emphasis on quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in drafting software and creating standard drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Complete hands-on training to gain foundational knowledge in design engineering processes.
  • Develop standard drawings within a regulated environment ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Oversee projects from start to finish, including BOMs and approvals.
  • Generate 3D assemblies and layout drawings for conveying equipment.
  • Design pricing models and prepare quotes for custom components.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, sales and quality teams to align design with production.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve design standards.

What You’ll Do:

  • Complete hands-on training: Participate in an immersive training program to gain foundational knowledge and practical skills in design engineering processes.
  • Develop standard drawings: Create and refine standard drawings within a regulated environment, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Project management: Oversee projects from start to finish, including the delivery of approval drawings, manufacturing prints, and bills of materials.
  • 3D modeling and layout creation: Generate detailed 3D assemblies and layout drawings for conveying equipment, ensuring precision and functionality.
  • Pricing model development and quoting: Design pricing models and prepare accurate quotes for custom, made-to-order components to meet client specifications.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams: Work closely with manufacturing, sales, and quality teams to align design with production capabilities and customer expectations.
  • Continuous improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve design standards, and support cost-saving initiatives.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Educational background: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Manufacturing experience: Minimum of 2 years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Mechanical aptitude: Strong technical skills and understanding of mechanical concepts.
  • Drafting software skills: Familiarity with Inventor, AutoCAD, or SolidEdge is a plus.
  • Attention to detail: Highly detail-oriented in all aspects of work.
  • Customer service commitment: Dedicated to delivering excellent customer service and upholding Martin's standards.
  • Communication skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Self-motivation and goal orientation: Proactive with a strong drive to achieve personal and team goals.

Your Schedule:

  • Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
