Job summary

Lakeside Recruiting Solutions is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support production and partner with the Plant Engineering Manager in designing and improving processes in the Minnesota facility.

You will analyze data, identify bottlenecks, and drive cost savings and safety improvements while developing SOPs and working with Lean initiatives. The role also involves capital project support and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or Associate's degree in a technical field with equivalent technical experience.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Thorough knowledge of manufacturing concepts.
• Experience within a lean manufacturing environment preferred.
• Proven 8D, 5Y, or relevant problem-solving methodology.

Responsibilities

• Develops, improves, and monitors standards, processes, and performance to reduce costs and improve production operations.
• Analyzes production data to identify bottlenecks, and drive safety, quality, throughput, and cost savings initiatives.
• Provides objective, functional, and financial engineering guidance on capital expenditures to site management.
• Supports installation and implementation of capital expenditures.
• Develop and maintain SOPs and Work Instructions.
• Provides lean manufacturing guidance to operations through coordination with the site Lean Manager.
• Investigate production issues using a systematic approach to root cause and corrective actions (8D problem solving methodology).
• Other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for supporting production in the plant and will report to the Plant Engineering Manager. The role will work both independently and as a part of a team to maintain and improve processes and systems used in manufacturing. In addition, this role will function as a specialist and subject matter expert for technical planning throughout the facility.
