Job summary

Light Composites, Inc. in Poway, CA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to own end-to-end manufacturing processes for aerospace-grade carbon fiber structures. The role combines desk tooling design with hands-on floor work to keep builds moving.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in manufacturing engineering (composites preferred), strong GD&T/blueprints, and AS9100 experience, plus a technical bachelor’s degree. Expect a fast-paced, problem-solving environment with opportunities for impact.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience (composites strongly preferred).
• Hands-on knowledge of composite processes: prepreg layup, oven/autoclave cure, trimming and machining.
• Blueprint fluency and GD&T.
• Experience working in AS9100 or a similar quality system.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• A bias for the floor: we hire problem solvers, not spectators.

Salary Range: $95,000.00 To $120,000.00 Annually

Light Composites is an AS9100:D / ISO 9001:2015 certified manufacturer of advanced carbon fiber composite structures for aerospace, defense, and medical customers in Poway, CA. We are a small-batch, high-mix shop where engineers own problems end to end - some days you are designing tooling and programming toolpaths at a desk, other days you are on the floor making a build work.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

REQUIREMENTS

• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Legally authorized to work in the United States; must meet the U.S. Person definition per ITAR
• Consistent, punctual attendance; willingness to work occasional overtime to meet production schedules
• Commitment to shop safety practices and required PPE
• Physical requirements: able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

• Salary range: $95,000 - $120,000 depending on experience
