Job summary

Dana Canada Corp. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to optimize production workflows, layouts, and equipment utilization on the shop floor.

You will provide technical support to resolve process issues, drive lean improvements, and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards. The role requires CAD proficiency, machining or grinding experience, and strong collaboration with engineering, quality, and operations teams to integrate new products and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of applicable experience.
• 3+ years of experience.
• Knowledge of CAD Software.
• Machining or grinding experience.
• Equipment repair, rebuild, and/or purchasing experience.
• Experience in writing and editing work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve production workflows, layouts, and utilization of equipment to enhance efficiency.
• Provide technical support to resolve process-related issues, equipment malfunctions, and quality concerns on the shop floor.
• Apply lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to drive process improvements and cost savings.
• Work with engineering, quality, and production teams to integrate new products into manufacturing, including tooling, process validation, and documentation.
• Ensure all manufacturing processes meet safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Maintain accurate documentation including work instructions, process flows, and engineering change notices.
• Develop new or modify existing methods to manufacture products ensuring that such methods meet quality and production standards as well as health, safety, and environmental standards while meeting cost requirements
• Coordinate capital projects including; researching vendor sources and selections, quotation, business justification, establish project timeline, trial runs, troubleshooting, and sign offs
• Evaluate and maintain facilities structure and implement energy reduction opportunities
• Maintain plant layout for area and develop improved process flow for material and product

• Excellent communication skills to work effectively with production, quality, maintenance, and leadership teams.
