Job summary

Pentair plc in Phoenix, AZ seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to optimize production and drive continuous improvement across operations.

You will lead lean initiatives, implement automation, design tooling and fixtures, and develop production documentation to improve safety, quality, and throughput. You will collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to support new product introductions and ongoing process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or Quality Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, assembly, production, or quality operations in an engineering role.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, root cause analysis, and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Experience designing or improving tooling, fixtures, workstations, and ergonomic solutions.
  • Familiarity with PFMEA, DFMEA, control plans, PPAP, audits, corrective actions, and quality systems.
  • Experience with production documentation, ERP systems, BOMs, routings, and work instructions.
  • Understanding of statistical analysis, process capability, measurement systems, and quality improvement tools.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and project management skills with the ability to support multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Drive manufacturing process improvements through automation and lean principles to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot process issues and ensure smooth workflow with minimal downtime.
  • Implement and sustain lean tools and continuous improvement initiatives (5S, Kanban, standard work, visual management, Kaizen).
  • Design tooling, fixtures, ergonomic solutions, and testing methods to enhance safety, quality, repeatability, and throughput.
  • Lead and support quality initiatives including PFMEA, control plans, PPAP, process validation, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and audits.
  • Develop and maintain production documentation (BOMs, routings, work instructions, labor standards, process audits).
  • Evaluate process performance using statistical methods and process capability analysis.
  • Partner with production, quality, and engineering teams to solve problems and drive operational excellence.

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Phoenix, AZ team. In this role, you will support daily production operations, optimize manufacturing processes, and lead continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities include driving improvements in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity through lean manufacturing, process standardization, automation, tooling and fixture development, and problem solving. You will also support quality initiatives, including Quality Management System compliance, process capability improvements, corrective actions, audits, control plans, and ongoing product and process improvements.

You Will
  • Drive manufacturing process improvements through automation, workstation design, line balancing, and lean manufacturing principles to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency.

  • Design and improve tooling, fixtures, ergonomic solutions, and testing methods to enhance safety, quality, repeatability, and throughput.
  • Lead and support quality initiatives, including PFMEA, control plans, PPAP, process validation, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and audit activities.
  • Develop and maintain production documentation, including BOMs, routings, work instructions, labor standards, and process audits.
  • Evaluate process performance using statistical methods and process capability analysis to meet quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
  • Partner with production, quality, and engineering teams to solve problems, support new product introductions, and drive operational excellence.
  • Support safety, regulatory, and Quality Management System requirements while promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or Quality Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, assembly, production, or quality operations in an engineering role.

This posiiton is Monday -Thursday 10 hour shifts. Compensation: For this full-time position working at this location, the anticipated annualized base pay range will be from $61200 - $113600 / year. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, work location, and other relevant business or organizational needs. This position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as, annual incentive bonus.
