Job summary

Janicki Industries, Inc. is recruiting a Manufacturing Engineer to support machining, composite fabrication, finishing and assembly of tooling and production parts at our Hamilton, WA facility.

The role emphasizes process development, tool production, and continuous improvement within an AS9100 certified environment. You will work with Project Managers, vendors and cross-functional teams to optimize fabrication processes, meet schedules, and ensure quality and safety standards are met.

Qualifications

  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident required due to ITAR and EAR regulations.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance.
  • Ability to read, interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, work orders, and procedures.
  • Ability to read drawings, follow process instructions, and monitor machine controllers.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
  • Effective verbal and written communication in English.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering/Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with SAP; Catia and Unigraphics desirable.
  • 10+ years of experience may substitute for a Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains an overview of production processes and works with Management to implement improvements.
  • Creates and manages new production processes to support tooling manufacturing.
  • Reissues production processes as new technology is developed.
  • Plans and coordinates standard manufacturing processes on the Production Floor.
  • Records test procedures and analyzes data for changes in product or test method.
  • Works with Project Managers to identify and mitigate risk in production.
  • Ensures compliance with Safety, 5S, AS9100 and Nadcap standards and practices.
  • Develops Production Build Plan packages from customer process specs and drawings.
  • Confers with vendors to determine product specs and arrange procurement of equipment and parts.
  • Files and maintains engineering drawings, records, revisions.

Our Hamilton, Washington facility specializes in manufacturing and machining large, complex composite and metallic structures for the aerospace and space exploration markets.

Department Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer supports the production processes associated with machining, composite fabricating, finishing and assembling composite tooling, metallic tooling or production parts. This includes basic research and development, process optimization, design and testing duties in an AS9100 Certified facility.

The followingessentialjobfunctions are performed:

  • Maintains an overview of production processes and facilities and work with Management and Production personnel to develop and implement improvements for optimal results
  • Assists with creatingand managingnew production processes/procedures tobetter aid inthe completion of composite tooling and/or resolve any problems that may have occurred during the production of the tool
  • As Research and Design develops new technology, the ME reissues and/or reconstructs production processes in order to implement new technology
  • Plans and coordinatesstandardmanufacturing processes on the Production Floor
  • Aides with recordingtest procedures and results, numerical and graphical data and recommendations for changes in product or test method
  • Works with Project Managers to identify and mitigate risk in the production process
  • Must be able to comply with Safety, 5S, AS9100 and Nadcap Standards and Practices
  • Develops detailed Production Build Plan packages based upon customer process specifications and engineering drawings
  • Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts
  • Files, retrieves and maintains engineering drawings, records, revisions and updates, as needed
  • Drafts detail drawings or sketches to convey technical information
  • Maintains awareness of the project schedule for each project as it moves through the value stream in order to meet key project deadlines
  • Analyzes and plans work force utilization, equipment and workspace requirements for maximum efficiency
  • Mustwork well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines
  • Mustat alltimes,demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors
  • Being at work on time and maintaining good attendance is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

  • Due to ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
  • This positionmayrequire the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). Janicki willassistwith gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreement to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow blueprints, isometric drawings, work orders, written procedures, and other technical documentation
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, follow process instructions, and monitor machine controllers

Preferred Qualifications

  • ABachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering/Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Composite/Material Science, Industrial Design Technology, or a similar field is required
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office products andSAP; some experience with Catia and Unigraphics is desirable
  • A combination ofextensive workexperience, (10+ Years) and other education may be substituted for aBachelor’s Degree
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in the English language
  • Must be familiar with a variety ofthe fields' concepts, practices and procedures
  • Must be able to rely on extensive experience, problem-solving skills and judgment to plan and accomplish goals

Detailed Wage Information

Wage range for this role is between $83,000-$145,000 , plus benefits and eligibility for a discretionary bonus. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts, off-site work and access assignments. The range provided is Janicki's estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skillsand abilities.
