Job summary

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical/Aerospace/Manufacturing Engineering or related field and 3–5 years of manufacturing experience.
• Experience in Conventional Machining (Turning, Milling, Drilling).
• Experience reading and interpreting complex blueprints.
• Experience in a Manufacturing Shop Environment.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications; direct troubleshooting on the shop floor.
• Pratt & Whitney aerospace experience preferred.
• Statistics, DOE, and multivariate statistics using Minitab or similar software.
• Six Sigma or Project Management Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify and implement process optimization and control methods to reduce costs and improve quality.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Design Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams to improve processes.
• Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions on non-conforming products using statistical tools.
• Drive targeted manufacturing process optimization using PFMEA and Process Control Plans.
• Document problem statements, observations, conclusions, calculations, and recommendations.
• Support project pipeline to select, prioritize, and scope improvement projects aligned with ACE/CORE initiatives.

Insight Global seeking a proactive, goal oriented, and detail-focused Product Manufacturing Engineer to enhance production efficiencies, improve machining and assembly operations, maintain quality standards, and implementing innovative solutions. In this role, this individual will collaborate closely with Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Design Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Identify & implement process optimization & process control methods to eliminate quality turn backs/escapes and reduce overall product costs through the specific process.
• Significant interaction with product designers, tool designers, quality assurance, systems designers, and other stakeholders is required to improve first pass yield through manufacturing processes
• Perform Root cause analysis and corrective actions on non-conforming products for responsible processes using statistical analysis tools and other methods as necessary
• Drive targeted manufacturing process optimization activities using MRL tools such as Process Control Plans and PFMEA
• The discipline and follow-through to fully document problem statements, observations, conclusions, calculations and recommendations.
• Support the project pipeline process to select, prioritize and scope projects to business objectives, integrated with other continuous improvement activities and ACE/CORE initiatives.

Skills and Requirements

• B.S. in Mechanical/Aerospace/Manufacturing Engineering or related field AND minimum 3-5 years’ experience in Manufacturing related field
• Experience in Conventional Machining (Turning, Milling, Drilling)
• Experience using CAD/CAM Software like UG-NX or Others
• Experience reading and interpreting complex blueprints
• Experience in a Manufacturing Shop Environment
• Excellent knowledge of MS office applications -Direct troubleshooting support to the manufacturing shop floor and drive improvement across those specific manufacturing processes. Manufacturing Processes include conventional machining: Milling, Turning, Drilling, etc.
• Previous manufacturing experience at Pratt & Whitney on large aerospace components or cases preferred.
• Proficiency in statistics, data analytics, DOE, and multivariate statistics using Minitab or other statistical software
• Six Sigma or Project Management Certification preferred
