Job summary

Times Microwave Systems in Mesa, AZ is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support the Production Department by resolving issues in the manufacture and assembly of microwave and millimeter-wave coaxial cable assemblies. You will work with Production and Operations to ensure efficient manufacturing and adherence to schedule and quality requirements.

Qualifications

• BSME or higher required.
• Minimum 5 years in cable assembly/manufacturing.
• Experience with RF cable or assemblies preferred.

• Familiarity with Lean/Six Sigma and CAPA processes.

Responsibilities

• Create/maintain/review/improve/troubleshoot manufacturing/testing docs.
• Conduct feasibility studies for cost and equipment requirements.
• Identify root causes of failures on the production floor.
• Implement process improvements to address inefficiencies.
• Provide training/qualification/validation for processes and equipment.

UFAMANUFACTURING ENGINEER

Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer supports the Production Department by resolving issues related to components, equipment and processes of the manufacture and assembly of microwave and millimeter wave frequency coaxial cable assemblies. The Manufacturing Engineer works in concert with Production and Operations to assure efficient manufacturing of products to meet customer scheduling and quality requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Creating/maintaining/reviewing/improving/troubleshooting documentation related to manufacturing and testing of RF coaxial cable assemblies.
• Conducting feasibility studies to estimate product cost and analyze capital equipment, capacity, and capability requirements.
• Identifying root cause of mechanical and electrical failures on the production floor.
• Implementing process improvements to correct manufacturing inefficiencies and failures
• Providing analysis and solutions to complex material screening and sorting issues
• Designing/developing tooling and fixtures to support production needs
• Providing training/qualification/validation for processes and equipment as required
• Ensuring compliance with internal standards, processes, and procedures.

Qualifications/Requirements

• BSME or Higher
• 5+ years' experience in cable assembly/manufacturing environment or equivalent
• Experience in the manufacture of raw RF cable or cable assemblies, preferred
• Experience with resistance soldering equipment, preferred
• Experience with PNA test equipment, preferred
• Experienced using Lean Principles and tools
• Experience using Control Processes and Procedures including Change Management System, Nonconformance Reports, Engineering Specifications, Takt time/rate, Corrective & Preventive Action (CAPA), and Work Instructions
• Experience using Six Sigma and/or or other problem-solving methodologies
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
• Proficiency with SolidWorks, preferred
• Experience reading and understanding drawings and specifications
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Excellent time and project management skills
