Responsibilities

  • Design efficient process flow of raw materials, components and finished goods throughout warehouse.
  • Analyze production lines to identify bottlenecks, reduce cycle times, and improve material flow.
  • Lead LEAN initiatives including Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kaizen events and root-cause problem solving.
  • Conduct time studies, norm analysis, and SPC to track KPIs.
  • Create and maintain work instructions, error-proofing devices, and SOPs.
  • Partner with operations, engineering and supply chain to implement key initiatives.
  • Develop KPIs to monitor improvements in assembly and distribution.
  • Identify and recommend product improvements and designs meeting customer requirements.
  • Produce CAD/CAM programs and train others on systems.

Manufacturing Engineer

Full Time Engineering Maumee, OH, US

Salary Range: $78,000.00 To $121,000.00 Annually

The ASRaymond Manufacturing Engineer will optimize production workflows and eliminate waste through leading continuous improvement projects across the assembly and distribution work cells. This role will collaborate with operations, quality, product engineering and supply chain to improve quality, increase on-time delivery and reduce costs across assembly and distribution processes. The Manufacturing Engineer, reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, will be an integral member of the operations leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Design: Create efficient process flow of raw materials, components and finished goods throughout warehouse.
  • Process Optimization: Analyze production lines to find bottlenecks, reduce cycle times, and improve material flow.
  • Lean Tools Implementation:Lead LEAN initiatives including, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), 5S organization, Kaizen events, and root-cause problem solving to drive improvements throughout the value chain.
  • Data & Time Studies:Conduct time studies, norm analysis, and statistical process control to track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Standardization: Create and maintain clear work instructions, error-proofing devices, and standard operating procedures
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with operations, engineering and supply chain to efficiently implement key initiatives and project.
  • Metric & Performance Tracking: Develop KPIs to continuously track improvements in the assembly and distribution businesses.
  • Identify, evaluate, and recommend product improvements and specific designs that will meet customer requirements or support the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Perform duties related to the CAD/CAM role, as needed, including producing programs, designs, and training others to effectively use established systems and resources.
  • Other related duties and projects assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Five or more years in operations, distribution and continuous improvement engineering role, using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, 3D CAD software. M3 ERP system preferred.
  • Ability to read/understand technical material, engineering drawings, and industry standards is required.
  • Excellent analytical, reasoning, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to details required.
  • Able to adapt to changing priorities, manage multiple projects, and meet established deadlines to support customer requirements.
  • Strong proactive and responsive communication and customer service skills, both in written and verbal forms.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels internally and externally to the organization.
  • Experience outlining manufacturing processes for parts and assemblies and providing work instruction to manufacturing.
  • Lean manufacturing experience required.
  • Strong scheduling and organizing skills to complete assigned functions.
  • Proficient at reading, analyzing and interpreting customer drawings, specifications, procedures, and standards.
  • Proficient with computer systems, including Microsoft Office.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial, Mechanical or Manufacturing engineering discipline.
