Job summary

NR Consulting in Las Vegas, NV seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to eliminate waste and apply innovative systems to improve workflows. They identify delays and sources of waste, refine the system, adjust production lines and integrate new technology to enhance the supply and production chain.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree preferred; other engineering disciplines considered based on experience.
  • 3–8 years of hands-on engineering experience in manufacturing or process areas.
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD or CAM, SolidWorks, and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs of new technology or automation in an effort to streamline and improve product development and manufacturing operations.
  • Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching and designing testing methods, and conferring with equipment vendors on validation and root cause analysis for new and existing processes/products.
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs.
  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services.
  • Maintains product and process database by writing computer programs and entering data.
  • Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.
  • Periodic usage of 2D and 3D design software in support of:
  • Project cost estimating, scheduling and timeline maintenance
  • Tooling, fixture and jig development
  • Partners with production leadership to design support tools for training and process improvement. Building visual aids, tools, jigs, etc.
  • Engages with Safety function in assessing safety initiatives and conducting incident investigations when processes and equipment are a factor.
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.

Job description

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
  • Competencies:Technical Knowledge – mechanical, electrical and structural systems. Perform mathematical computations to design specifications and components.

SKILLS & ABILITIES Education:
  • B.S. Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred, but other engineering disciplines will be considered based on experience.
  • Experience: 3-8 years of Engineering experience with a focus on hands-on work in manufacturing or process areas.
  • Computer Skills: 3D CAD or CAM, SolidWorks & Microsoft Office Suite proficiency required.
