Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Kent, WA

Contract: 3-6 month contract

Position Summary:

Client is currently seeking a Process Engineer I for our Kent, WA, USA location. In this role, you will develop, maintain, and support effective, responsive Engineering support for assigned projects, customers and programs. Provide day-to-day engineering input and support to personnel required for quality, on-time production of composite structures, process engineering of composite structures and materials. Provide analytical and organizational support to Engineering Group Leader and Engineering Manager as required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret customer and internal drawings, specifications, processes and procedures. Responsible for BOM changes, quote support, and process/product improvement analysis. Update/create manufacturing and tooling plans with illustrations. Coordinate manufacturing and tooling plans with design. Work with production personnel to build the product in a cost-effective way that meets the customer's requirements.
• Perform reviews of new drawings/specs and spec revisions. Analyze designs for producibility. Assess new program start-up issues.
• Continuous Improvement leader - Implement process improvement and standardization. Calculate ROI on productivity and design improvements. Identify and create cause and corrective action plans through thorough Root Cause Analysis. Develop and implement measurement plans for data collection and analysis.
• Assess and respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Effectively present information to top management, public groups, and customers.
• Coordinate site visits for customers, suppliers, internal people, and local technical groups/associations and present technical data internally, to customers, and to suppliers.
• Provide hands on training and guidance to operations personnel and develop necessary training materials.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with coursework in engineering or other closely related field of study. Minimum of 5 years hands on experience in specific composite manufacturing process areas will be considered in lieu of degree.
• One to two years related experience and/or training in an engineering discipline.
• Solid PC and CAD skills required.
• Solid ability to define problems, and interpret a variety of technical instruction, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Solid verbal and written communication skills are required.
