Job summary

Allison Transmission in Indianapolis, IN seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to develop and implement cost-effective manufacturing processes that meet product specifications and quality standards.

You will design tooling and test methods, study product requirements, and lead continuous improvement initiatives to increase throughput and reduce defects across production equipment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering discipline.
  • 3+ years' experience in Manufacturing Engineer or similar role.
  • Preferred: 5+ years' experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with Unigraphics and other CAD programs.
  • Experience in gear/spline manufacturing, gear geometry, analytical gear evaluation.
  • CNC programming experience with machine control systems.
  • Project management experience related to machine procurement, cost analysis, and process validation.
  • Experience in grinding, turning, machining center equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of manufacturing systems with focus on continuous improvement for quality and throughput.
  • Direct the design, development, and improvement of manufacturing processes.
  • Study product requirements, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment.
  • Ensure product and process quality by designing testing methods and establishing standards.
  • Provide technical support for plant operations.
  • Analyze process elements and equipment deficiencies for improvements.
  • Implement and support safety and housekeeping standards.
