Eastern Research Group, Inc. (ERG) seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to support energetics manufacturing operations at the Naval Support Facility in Indian Head, MD.

The role requires strong technical expertise and prior manufacturing experience in regulated environments. You will analyze processes, troubleshoot issues, develop documentation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve efficiency, quality, safety, and throughput while ensuring compliance with customer and safety

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • At least 2 years of professional engineering experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Experience in DoD, Navy, explosives, energetics, chemical processing or other highly regulated manufacturing environments preferred.

Responsabilidades

  • Support development, evaluation, and improvement of energetics manufacturing processes and production operations.
  • Analyze processes to improve efficiency, quality, reliability, safety, and throughput.
  • Troubleshoot production issues related to equipment, materials, processes, and manufacturing operations.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation (SOPs, work instructions, specifications).
  • Support process development, testing, validation, and implementation of manufacturing improvements.
  • Review production data to identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address delays, quality issues, and equipment breakdowns.
  • Ensure processes and documentation meet engineering, quality, safety, and customer requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and provide engineering support to manufacturing operations.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and other engineering deliverables.

ERG is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support energetics manufacturing operations and engineering activities. We are looking for a motivated engineer with strong technical expertise and a proven background in manufacturing environments.

This is a fulltime position at the Naval Support Facility (NSF) Indian Head. Indian Head, MD, is approximately 30 miles from Washington, DC, 25 miles from Alexandria, VA, and 60 miles from Fredericksburg, VA.

Job Description
  • Support the development, evaluation, and improvement of energetics manufacturing processes and production operations
  • Analyze energetics manufacturing processes to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, reliability, safety, and throughput
  • Troubleshoot production issues related to equipment, materials, processes, and manufacturing operations
  • Develop, review, and maintain technical documentation, including standard operating procedures, work instructions, process documentation, specifications, and engineering documentation
  • Support process development, testing, validation, and implementation of manufacturing improvements
  • Review production data and process performance to identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address production delays, material or part quality issues, equipment breakdowns, and other manufacturing challenges
  • Ensure manufacturing processes and documentation align with applicable engineering, quality, safety, and customer requirements
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and provide engineering support to manufacturing operations
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and other engineering deliverables
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
  • At least 2 years of professional engineering experience in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Experience working in a DoD, Navy, explosives, energetics, chemical processing, or other highly regulated manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Experience supporting, developing, improving, or troubleshooting manufacturing processes
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, process documentation, and technical data
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with engineering, manufacturing, production, and technical personnel
  • Must currently hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret-level security clearance
  • Must be a U.S. citizen as this position is not eligible for Limited Access Authorizations

$94,000 - $140,000 a year

The salary range for all positions depends on the years and type of experience.
